vinyasa yoga teacher training india

Due to a sold out YTT in 2017, I will be heading back to India in the spring of 2019! Please read below about my last training to get an idea of what I will be offering in 2019.

This is the birthplace of Yoga.  This is my Magic Land.

I first went to Rishikesh on a retreat with a group of other teachers and I fell in love. Set in the north of India at the foot of the Himalayas, my 200 hours Vinyasa Teacher Training course will be held at the Dewa Retreat Centre luxury boutique hotel.  For more details on the training course itself, including course structure and who it is suitable for, please have a look at the page on 200 hours Vinyasa Teacher Training.

India 2017, October 8th - October 29th

Within a day of leaving the UK, you will find yourself in the magic land.  The usual route is to take a flight to Delhi (via Dubai) and then a short internal flight to Rishakesh.  You get to arrange your own travel so you can be entirely flexible with what you need and shop around for the best prices.

Since we are in India, there will be a portion of the training dedicated to immersing ourselves in Indian culture. We will have part of our training hours outside of the studio to observe and participate in activities around Rishikesh.

The course will be held at the beautiful Dewa Retreat Centre which I picked myself after staying there on a retreat with other teachers and friends.  Students will be staying in shared accommodation and you will be roomed with either two or three other people.  Single rooms are available for an additional cost (please let me know as soon as possible if you want to reserve a single room as there is limited availability).

Modules 1 and 2 will be held at the Dewa Retreat Centre from October 8th through to October 29th 2017.

Not sure you can be away for that length of time?  You can split your training between India and the UK.  Find out more about the course structure and where the modules are held on my page on 200 hours Vinyasa Teacher Training.  You can also arrange to have a chat with me over the phone or email.

Course Structure

Module 1 October 8th – October 19th 2017

This will be a 11 day intensive to dive deep into the teachings of yoga. Each day will include a 3 hour practice followed by a day of lessons. The morning practice will be rooted in Vinyasa and include meditation, pranayama (breath work) asana (physical practice) and shat kriyas (cleansing techniques). The afternoon lessons will cover yoga philosophy, history and subtle anatomy. Students can expect to dive deep into self study and leave having learned all about yoga and its roots, how to apply it to everyday life and a deeper understanding of the self.

Module 2 – October 20th – 29th

Module 2 will begin after Module 1 has been completed.  Methodology, physical anatomy, business, hands on assists, lifestyle and ethics will be taught in addition to a practicum that will need to be completed. Shorter practices will be taught by Steph to allow for more time for students to practice teach. By the end of this module, students will leave feeling confident and prepared to teach yoga classes.

Please note there will be several required readings to be completed before the training begins.  To read more about the pre course work, exams and practicum please go to the 200 hours Vinyasa Teacher Training section.

The cost of the 200 hours teacher training course itself is $3800USD which breaks down to $1800USD for Module 1 and $2000USD for Module 2.  (The costings are given in US dollars as this is the currency used to pay the retreat centre.  You can convert to GBP or another currency here).
